SKILLED WORKERS PROGRAM 

Skilled Worker Immigrants are selected for the knowledge, skills, work experience, language ability and other qualities needed to participate in the Canadian labor market. All applicants are assessed on the points based system according to the immigration selection criteria. With the implementation of the new Immigration & Refugee Protection Act (IRPA) Skilled workers are no longer limited to a narrow list of occupations in demand. Candidates with a minimum 3 Years Full Time Diploma or Bachelors Degree with a good  knowledge of English and work experience can be eligible. Points are awarded for six factors ; education level;  language ability in English and/or French; work experience, age, validated arranged employment; adaptability depending on spouse's education, family relationship in Canada.      The applicant must attain a minimum of 67 points out of possible 100 to qualify. If you have good knowledge of French language you also have a chance to qualify for Immigration to the Province of Quebec .

 

BUSINESS PROGRAMS

Canada welcomes business immigrants who have the experience and resources to contribute to the Canadian economy. Business immigrants include investors, entrepreneurs, and self-employed immigrants.

 

SELF EMPLOYED

A Self-employed applicant must be able to establish or purchase a business in Canada that will create an employment opportunity that will support the applicant and his dependents, and will make a significant contribution to the economy or the cultural or artistic life of Canada . This category accommodates individuals such as artisans, consultants, athletes and members of performing arts.

 

ENTREPRENEURS

To qualify as an Entrepreneur, the applicant must have the intention and ability to establish, purchase or make a substantial investment in a business venture in Canada that a person will manage on an active and ongoing basis. The venture must maintain employment opportunities in Canada for one or more Canadian citizens or permanent residents, other than the entrepreneur and his/her dependents. The Entrepreneur must establish his business within 3 years of becoming a Permanent Resident of Canada .

The principal characteristics under this category are that the immigrant :

  • is issued a conditional visa stating that he/she must establish a business, and employ at least one  Canadian resident within 3  years of becoming resident of Canada.

  • reports to the Canadian Immigration authorities the progress of his Business in Canada every 6 months.

  • establishes a business consistent with his/her experience and is viable in Canada.
  • should have a net worth of at least $300,000 CDN.
  • does have to invest in a Company with Net Assets of  a min. of $ 125,000 CDN 
  • has direct control over his/her investment.

 

INVESTORS

Investors are defined as persons who have operated, controlled or directed a financially successful business or commercial undertaking, and who have, by their own endeavor, accumulated a net worth of at least CDN $800,000 and be willing to invest CDN $400,000 in a government controlled fund for a period of five years. Loans could be granted to investors to finance these programs . 

The principal characteristics under this category are that the immigrant :

  • is issued an unconditional visa based on his/her investment .

  • is free to  establish a business without any constraints in terms of min. employment, investment or regular reporting to the Immigration authorities .

 

FAMILY CLASS PROGRAM

This class has been formed to help reunite families of Canadian citizens and landed immigrants. The immigration regulations allow a person which is a Canadian citizen or a permanent resident of Canada to sponsor the following persons for admission:

  • spouses, common-law or conjugal partners 16 years of age or older ; (this category benefits presently from a higher priority and  a faster processing time .  
  • parents and grandparents;
  • dependent children, including adopted children;
  • children under 18 years of age who will be adopted;
  • brothers, sisters, nephews, nieces or grandchildren who are orphans; under the age of 18 and not married or in a common-law relationship; or
  • one relative of any age if the sponsor does not have an aunt, uncle or family member from the list above whom he could sponsor or who is already a Canadian citizen, or permanent resident.
